Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili slams the ongoing acts of terrorist attacks in Syria, and said they will bear no fruit.

During a meeting with Syrian National Reconciliation Minister Ali Haidar in Damascus on Saturday, Jalili called on all Syrian groups to adhere to a political solution in order to end the crisis and restore security there.

He also stressed that terrorism will not produce any results in Syria.

Haidar, for his part, briefed Jalili on the outlook of the plans devised by the Damascus government to promote national reconciliation in Syria, encourage people to overcome the current conflict and establish security and stability in Syria.

He stated that the Syrian Ministry for National Reconciliation has drawn up a number of comprehensive plans in order to foster the spirit of national reconciliation and reconstruction among all ranks of the Syrian society, and help Syria regain its pivotal role in the region.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the turmoil.

The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.
