The invitation was made by Azerbaijan’s Hijran Huseynova, chairwoman at the State Committee for Family in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pakaein, wrote Saturday's edition of 'Iran Daily'.
Pointing to cultural commonalities between both countries, Huseynova called for expansion of ties.
She said Iranian women are very experienced in economics and trade, noting that member-states of OIC could use Iranian women’s experiences in the field of economic development.
Pakaein said the meeting will focus on the role of women in the economic development of Muslim countries.
The Iranian ambassador also described the meeting as an opportunity for exchanging economic experiences among Muslim countries and becoming familiar with the role of Muslim women in national progress.
Molaverdi, who also serves as the head of the Department for Women and Family Affairs, has made efforts to improve the condition of women since her appointment by President Hassan Rouhani.
Molaverdi has focused on increasing the role of women managers by removing barriers and improving the livelihood of women breadwinners.
