If the sources of budget are met, Iran’s defensive budget is expected to rise by 21% in the next Iranian calendar year of 1398 (to start on March 21, 2019), Minister of Defense Brigadier General Amir Hatami said on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters, Hatami said the resources for next year’s defensive budget have been defined in two layers, and once the resources are met, a significant growth is expected in the country’s defensive budget.

He said that one layer of the budget bill be to the ceiling of 4,070,000 billion rials in the country’s general budget, and the other layer will be allocated if a major portion of government resources is met.
