President Rouhani:Gov't prioritizing youth employment, people's livelihoods

Hassan Rouhani elaborated on Wednesday that three major incidents in the country's economic process from the day of the Islamic Revolution up to today have been occurred, adding, 'The country's transformation of the structures of the state with the victory of the revolution, the 8-year imposed war and the cruel sanctions of the enemies against Iran, are three major incidents in the economic process the country has faced in various forms over past 40 years.”

He added, 'The pressure on our country and our people came again through the conspiracy of the hardliners of the United States and the Zionists and some of the countries of the region. These 3 major incidents in the economic process of our country could slow down the development trend, but the figures of achievements in all industrial, agricultural, social, health, educational, military, construction, developmental and educational sectors, knowledge-based companies and assistance to the people and the oppressed cannot be compared and contrasted to the past.

The president stated that everything in our country is based on the people's opinion, and this national sovereignty was the greatest achievement of our Islamic revolution, and this should be explained. All of the elections that are held in the country and is slated to be held next year show that our country is based on the elections, the votes of the people and the ballot box.

Expressed his view, President Rouhani stressed that the Islamic Revolution brought independence for Iran, saying, 'Before the revolution, others used to decide for us and Americans and some Europeans were in our country, and interferred in all matters, including the army and the Armed Forces, military industry, economics, culture and radio and television, but today the people of Iran are the main decision-makers.
