President Hassan Rouhani said that he expects a powerful presence by the Iranian teams at 2020 Summer Olympics as well as 2020 Summer Paralympics.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran's Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Massoud Soltanifar.
The president expressed his support for the Iranian national football team and the female athletes.
He also called for promotion of sport for all.
The Iranian athletes' success brings happiness to the Iranian nation, the president said.
The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and commonly known as Tokyo 2020, is an upcoming international multi-sport event that is scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 9, 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.
