Turdakun Sydykov in his address at the ceremony on the occasion referred to the bilateral friendship ties based on shared histories and cultures of the two nations that serve as the foundation stone for today’s modern close relations.
He said that Iran was among the first countries in the world that officially recognized the territorial integrity and political sovereignty of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan on December, 21, 1991.
The full diplomatic relations between the two countries was established on May, 10, 1992. The Iranian Embassy in Bishkek was opened in February, 1993, and the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Tehran, in May, 1996.
In the year 2002 the declaration of amicable relations between the two countries was published in Bishkek, and ever since the beginning of diplomatic ties, the political interactions at the level of presidents, parliament members and other state organizations’ officials have been going on.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov in a message addressed to his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi on May 10, 2022, wrote: Keeping in mind the efforts made in both countries, we can now establish effective and practical mechanisms for interactions in political, commercial, trade, cultural and humanitarian fields.
In response to that message, President Raisi, too emphasized: During the course of the past 30 years the two friend and brother countries of Iran and Kyrgyzstan have taken long strides aimed at expansion of bilateral relations based on mutual trust.
