Iran-Pakistan JEC concludes with signing of several MoUs

21st meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission (JEC) concluded in Islamabad on Thursday with the signing of MoUs to expand bilateral cooperation in different areas.  

The closing ceremony of the JEC was held in the presence of Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Ghasemi and Pakistan's Commerce Minister Naveed Qamar – the head of the Pakistani delegation.

In the two-day event, Rostam Ghasemi also met with high-ranking Pakistani officials and discussed the agenda of the 21st meeting of the Joint Economic Commission and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador of the Islamic Republic Mohammad Ali Hosseini, officials from different Pakistani ministries, and Iranian officials were also present at the ceremony. 

During the meeting of the Joint Economic Commission, Iran and Pakistan signed various MoUs to expand mutual cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, transportation, culture, tourism, and media.

The last meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission was held in 2016 in Tehran and now Islamabad hosted the next round of the event.
