Iran calls on Iraq to speed up dealing with General Soleimani martyrdom case

Iranian Judiciary's Deputy Chief for International Affairs and Secretary General of the Islamic Republic of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, Kazem Gharibabadi on Monday urged Baghdad to speedily finalize dealing with the martyrdom case of Iran’s General Soleimani.

Gharibabadi made the remarks as he is on a visit to Baghdad which comes on the eve of issuing an indictment by Iran on the assassination case.

He said that during his three-day stay in the Iraqi capital, he will closely follow up the issue.

Noting that Iran is preparing to issue an indictment on the matter, he expressed hope that Iraq will also present an indictment to the court so that all the perpetrators and orchestrators of the assassination will be brought to justice and punished.

Gharibabadi has already had meetings with Iraqi Chief Prosecutor Najm Abdullah Ahmed and Head of the Judicial Supervision Commission Laith Jabr Hamza and is also scheduled to meet the country’s Minister of Justice Khaled Shwani later in the day.
