Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a gathering of Quran reciters and memorizers on the first day of the holy fasting month of Ramadan in the capital Tehran on Tuesday.

"In the Islamic world, some governments help the enemies of the oppressed Palestinian people. God willing, they will be punished for this betrayal," the Leader noted in an address to the gathering.

Meanwhile, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the resistance and steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip will bring the Israeli regime to its knees.

Earlier in his address to the meeting with reciters, the Leader expressed his gratitude to God Almighty for the Qur'an blessing.

"The number of good Qur'am reciters and learners in our country is more than all Islamic countries," Ayatollah Khamenei further said.
