“Netanyahu Heads to Meet Trump with a New Iran Attack Plan” — Are Ballistic Missiles the Target This Time?

According to reports, U.S. officials say that Israel’s prime minister is expected to brief President Donald Trump on new plans for a potential attack on Iran during their upcoming meeting.

As reported by KhabarOnline, citing Euronews, sources indicate that Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, plans to update U.S. President Donald Trump on Iran’s ballistic missile program.

An Israeli diplomatic source said that the content of the planned meeting will be discussed exclusively during the session itself.

NBC News reported on Saturday, December 20, citing one informed source and four former U.S. officials, that Netanyahu is expected to use his meeting with Trump later this month to brief him on the expansion of Iran’s ballistic missile program and to lay out possible scenarios for a renewed military strike.

Israeli officials have announced that a meeting between Netanyahu and Trump is scheduled for December 29 (8 Dey 1404). According to sources cited by NBC News, Netanyahu is expected to stress during the meeting that the development of Iran’s missile program threatens not only Israel, but also the entire region and U.S. interests.

The report comes a week after U.S. President Donald Trump, while referring to the possibility of opening talks with Iran, simultaneously warned Tehran against any attempt to revive its ballistic missile or nuclear programs.

Trump has recently reiterated his threats against Iran, saying: “If Iran tries to move forward without reaching a deal, we will completely destroy it. We can eliminate their missiles in a very short period of time, and we have tremendous power.”

Meanwhile, an Israeli diplomatic source told the Israeli website Walla that the details of the Netanyahu–Trump meeting and the issues to be discussed will only be determined at the time the meeting takes place.
