During a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Thursday, Salehi said Iran and Turkey are aiming for an annual trade volume of over thirty-billion dollars in the near future.
The volume of bilateral trade between Tehran and Ankara stood at USD 10.561 billion during the first eight months of 2011.
Describing Iran and Turkey as two influential regional countries, Salehi said cooperation between Tehran and Ankara can guarantee peace and stability in the region.
The Iranian foreign minister said while “Tehran and Ankara support popular movements in all countries,” they are both against the interference of foreign governments in the internal affairs of other states.
Davutoglu arrived in Tehran on Wednesday and met with Iranian Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi before holding talks with Salehi on bilateral relations and latest regional and international developments.
