Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili says the US is trying to upset the balance of power in the region in favor of Israel following recent regional developments.

The US is making an all-out effort to compensate for strategic losses Israel incurred following the recent developments in the region and is trying to tip the balance in favor of Tel Aviv, Jalili said in a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Thursday.

Jalili added that the Islamic Awakening has led the recent movements in Muslim nations against the US and Israel.

Jalili further called on the Islamic nations to remain vigilant against the schemes of the enemies and employ their “activated capacities” against the US and Israel.

Davutoglu, for his part, stressed Iran's pivotal role in the region and the world, calling for the expansion of Tehran-Ankara bilateral ties.

Davutoglu arrived in Iran on Wednesday and met with his Iranian counterpart as well as Iran's vice president at the outset of his two-day tour.
