Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has warned against efforts by the enemy to derail and hijack popular uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa.

In a meeting with Iranian ambassadors and diplomatic missions on Wednesday, Salehi lauded as “auspicious” the Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa which “is rooted in the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the negation of puppet dictatorial regimes.”

He pointed to the West's attempts in portraying a false image of Iran and stated that the high capacities of the Islamic establishment, its prudence, and active diplomacy will thwart the West's conspiracies.

Salehi stated that the Islamic Revolution has turned into the focal point of Islamic Awakening among other countries.

The Iranian minister slammed the West's dual policies on human rights and said Tehran has a “transparent and wise” stance on the issue.

He expressed Iran's readiness to hold talks with other countries on the issues of human rights.
