Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani says the recent regional developments and the popular revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa have isolated the Israeli regime.

“The recent developments in the region and the popular revolutions in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia have isolated the Zionist regime (Israel),” Larijani said on Sunday in a meeting with Hamas Foreign Minister Mohamed Awad.

Larijani reiterated Iran's stance on supporting the resistance front in the region against Israel, IRIB reported.

Warning against the plots of the enemies of Islam to sow discord among the Muslims in the region, Larijani said, “In the current situation, strengthening factional currents is detrimental to the Muslim world.”

Awad, for his part, hailed Iran's support for Palestine and said the Iranian nation and government have always supported the Palestinian people and stood beside the Palestinian nation during hardships.

The Palestinian official stressed the importance of strengthening unity among Muslim countries, adding that foreign powers try to prevent convergence among Islamic nations by exaggerating certain misunderstandings.
