The 12th edition of Osian's Cinefan Film Festival in India has awarded two Iranian actors for starring in Mani Haqiqi’s latest production Modest Reception.

Taraneh Alidousti grabbed the Best Actress Award while the Best Actor Award went to the Iranian director and actor Mani Haqiqi during an awards ceremony that honored the best of Asian and Arab cinema at this year’s festival.

Haqiqi’s feature-length movie Modest Reception is the story of a rich couple who distribute plastic bags full of money in the Iranian provinces, a handout aimed purely at degradation.

The Turkish movie Inside directed by Zeki Demirkubuz received the Best Film Award for the Asian and Arab competition and the Best Director Award went to Faouzi Bensaidi for French-Moroccan title Death for Sale.
Dariush Mehrjui's The Orange Suit, Mani Haqiqi’s Modest Reception and Ali Mosaffa’s Last Step were the main Iranian representative at the festival.

Directed by the eminent Iranian filmmakers, each of the selected movies has been screened and honored in several international festivals so far.

Mehrjui’s The Orange Suit and Mosaffa’s Last Step were presented at the non-competition section, but Mani Haqiqi’s Modest Reception was screened at the competition section of the gala.

Meanwhile, Iranian actor-director Ali Mosaffa served at the festival’s jury panel along with Rome Film Festival director Marco Mueller, Indian filmmaker Muzaffar Ali, Egyptian director Magdi Ahmed Ali and US screenwriter James V Hart.

As Osian's Cinefan Film Festival features a competition of Asian and Arab cinematic creations, some 15 world premieres among its 175-film lineup were presented at the 2012 festival held in New Delhi.
