Tehran 3+3 meeting can lay ground for peace in south Caucasus

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says the 3+3 Format foreign ministers' meeting in Tehran can lay the ground for peace and ending challenges in the south of the Caucasus with the participation of regional actors and neighbors.

The first meeting of foreign ministers of the 3+3 Format is scheduled to be held on Monday with the participation of the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey, hosted by Hossein Amir-Abdollahian at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs compound in Tehran.

Previously, the 3+3 meeting was held at the level of deputy foreign ministers in 2021 in Moscow.

About today's meeting, Amir-Abdollahian said that it is about "peace, cooperation and progress in the South Caucasus."

He added that today's meeting can lay the ground for establishing peace and ending challenges in the south of the Caucasus with the participation of regional actors and neighbors.

To attend the Tehran meeting, In this regard, Armenia's foreign minister arrived in Tehran yesterday, and his Azerbaijani counterpart arrived in Tehran today.
