Sprinter Farzaneh Fasihi wins gold in Asia indoor Athletics

The Iranian sprinter Farzaneh Fasihi became Asia champion again after winning gold at the Tehran-hosted 2024 Asian Indoor Athletic Championships on Sunday.

In the women's 60m event, she crossed the finish line faster than other opponents. The representatives of Kazakhstan, Thailand and China were ranked next.

In the final of the Tehran-hosted event, she crossed the finish line in 7.20 seconds to not only break Iran's record but also became the Asian champion for the second time in a row. Fasihi was the Iranian record holder of the 60 metres indoor with 7.25 seconds before today's match.

The 11th Asian Indoor Athletic Championships is being held with the participation of 400 athletes from 26 countries at Aftab Englebal Complex on February 17-19.
