In the early hours of Thursday, Hamas announced that an agreement had been reached for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Al Mayadeen reported on Thursday.
According to the information provided by the group, their non-negotiable demands—such as a complete end to the war, the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces, the entry of humanitarian aid, and a prisoner exchange—have been met.
Hamas expressed gratitude to the mediators, including Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, for their efforts in facilitating the ceasefire agreement.
Hamas called on the United States to ensure that Israel fulfills its obligations under the truce.
Doha News quoted Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who announced that both sides had agreed on all the provisions and implementation mechanisms of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire, which will end the war, secure the release of captives and prisoners, and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.
In a related development, a Hamas-affiliated source informed AFP that the first phase of a deal with Israel involves the release of both living Israeli prisoners held in Gaza and over 2,000 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
