Yemen’s Ansarullah movement says it would halt attacks on Israeli targets and Israel-linked ships in the Red Sea if Israel adheres to the Gaza ceasefire agreement, but warned that any continuation of the blockade or assaults on Gaza would trigger a renewed and intensified response.

Hazam al-Assad, a member of Ansarullah’s political bureau, told RT on Sunday that the group is closely monitoring the implementation of the truce. “If the Israeli regime continues its aggression and the siege of Gaza, our military operations will resume with greater intensity and scope to force it to stop its crimes,” he said.

Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi had previously said the movement is following developments around the Gaza ceasefire closely and would respond appropriately to any violations or changes to the agreement.

On Thursday, Palestinian group Hamas announced it had reached a formal agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip and facilitate a prisoner exchange.
