Speaking at a meeting with investors and economic activists in South Khorasan Province on Thursday, Pezeshkian said expanding relations with friendly and neighboring countries is among the key programs of his administration and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He highlighted the administration’s readiness to remove any legal obstacles standing in the way of such ties, “whether in customs, politics, trade, cultural issues, or cross-border activities.”
“We must strive to have the best for our people,” the president said, adding that the country should set its sights on the highest and greatest objectives.
Citing Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s outlook, he noted that Iran must be “the best and inspiring,” explaining that a broader vision leads to greater achievements.
Pezeshkian stressed that improvement comes with costs and that pursuing the peaks of science and progress is essential for national development.
With determination and resolve, he said, Iran can reach the highest summits, adding that the nation deserves the best.
Referring to the difficult and sensitive conditions, the president said adversaries are aware of the situation and have acted on the assumption that Iran is at its weakest.
“But they should know that we can elevate our position to the strongest possible level, and that strength takes shape from our perspective,” he said.
He added that through solidarity and cooperation, and with the help of investors, elites, technologists, and academics, the country can overcome hardships.
“I think only of the prosperity and progress of my country,” Pezeshkian said. “I seek power, not position or fame.”
He stressed that progress does not happen overnight and requires persistent effort rather than complacency.
Turning to energy policy, the president said his administration has prioritized electricity generation from clean energy, particularly solar panels.
He noted that more than 3,000 megawatts of solar capacity have been installed, with an additional 200 to 300 megawatts added weekly. Solar energy, he said, is clean, affordable, and environmentally friendly, with each megawatt preventing the annual emission of one million tons of CO₂.
