Pezeshkian: We Seek Peace But Do Not Accept Bullying

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday that the United States is proposing “humiliating” conditions for the continuation of negotiations, stressing that Tehran will not accept them.

“I am not willing to submit to humiliation and oppression. We are not seeking conflict or confrontation with anyone; we want to engage in peaceful dialogue with all. However, we will stand up to anyone who resorts to bullying.”

According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, Speaking at a three-hour meeting titled “Strategies for Achieving National Cohesion and Overcoming Challenges,” Pezeshkian hosted senior political figures, party leaders, and national elites.

After listening to participants’ views, criticisms, and proposals on various domestic issues, the president outlined the government’s performance over the past year under difficult circumstances and responded to several points raised.

Addressing foreign policy and sanctions, Pezeshkian said Iran had previously negotiated with the United States and was ready to reach an agreement, but Washington “derailed the deal through war.”

He added that the U.S. is now setting degrading preconditions for renewed talks, which Iran will not accept. “We will not submit to humiliation, and we do not accept a weak and fragmented Iran,” the president said.

Pezeshkian emphasized that the Islamic Republic is not seeking conflict and has repeatedly stated that it does not intend to build a nuclear bomb, expressing readiness for any form of verification. “Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons; we are ready to engage and cooperate.”

However, he accused the opposing side of attempting to strip Iran of all elements of power and weaken the country in the face of Israel. “But it is unacceptable to demand that we give up our missiles while a heavily armed Israeli regime attacks us. We seek peace, but we will not accept bullying,” he said.

He also said that in relations with neighboring countries, the will of Iran’s government and establishment is to expand ties in all fields.

The Iranian president added that the enemy believes Iran is currently at its weakest, but stressed that “today, we can be in the strongest possible position.”

The president said he is not attached to holding office, adding that he stands by his principles and wants an Iran that is dignified and proud, stressing that he will not make concessions at the expense of the country’s standing.

Pezeshkian described domestic, regional, and internal unity as key priorities of his administration, noting that recent foreign visits have resulted in positive agreements with neighboring countries.

He added that one of the most significant outcomes of these interactions has been regional cooperation during wartime conditions and efforts to prevent violations of Iran’s borders.
