Iran president highlights cooperation of independent countries in response to US destabilizing strategy

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said on Wednesday that cooperation of independent countries would be the strongest response to the policy of sanctions and destabilization pursued by the United States and its allies.

The president made the remarks during a meeting in Tehran with Russia's visiting Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

President Raisi said that Iran and Russia are resolved to upgrade strategic relations in all areas.

Reiterating Iran's principled policy in opposition to war, he said that expansion of war is a source of concern to all the countries.

The Russian official, in the meantime, briefed the Iranian president on the condition of bilateral cooperation between Iran and Russia, noting that the two countries are actively cooperating in different fields, including politics, trade, energy, agriculture and transit.

Patrushev said that the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission is pursuing the implementation of the agreements previously signed between the presidents of the two countries.

He added that establishing a multipolar world would benefit the interests of all countries.
