Israeli army admits Al-Qassam commander in Gaza not arrested

The Israeli army and the Shin Bet spy agency have jointly admitted in a statement that they made a mistake in announcing the arrest of Raed Saad, the commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades unit in Gaza.

The Israeli occupation army acknowledged in a joint statement with Shin Bet on Friday that a photo claiming that dozens of resistance commanders had been arrested at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza was fake.

The Israeli media also denied the arrest of Raed Saad, the commander of the Gaza unit of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

Previously, a photo collage released by the Israeli army claimed that Saad was among Palestinians detained at al-Shifa Hospital.

The Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari at the time boasted that a “very significant” member of Hamas had been arrested.
