Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani has appointed Ali Bagheri-Kani, former Deputy Foreign Minister and Secretary of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations (SCFR), as his deputy for international affairs.

Bagheri-Kani also attended Larijani’s meeting with his Armenian counterpart Armen Grigoryan here in Tehran on Saturday.

Ali Bagheri-Kani had earlier served as the acting minister of foreign affairs and deputy foreign minister for political affairs.

He also headed Iran’s negotiation team in the talks on reviving of Iran nuclear deal also known as the JCPOA in Vienna.

He has also served as Iran’s Deputy Chief of the Judiciary for International Affairs and Secretary of the Islamic Republic of Iran High Council for Human Rights.
