Brunei, Iran foreign ministers hold talks

Foreign ministers from Brunei Darussalam and Iran met and discussed issues of mutual interests concerning bilateral, regional, and international developments especially topics related to the Islamic world.

Iran’s top diplomat Hossein Amirabdollahian described the meeting as an appropriate opportunity to review ways to develop bilateral ties.

Pointing to Iran’s achievements in new technologies and knowledge-based sector, he expressed satisfaction with the establishment of cooperation in this field.

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof, for his part, invited his Iranian counterpart to visit Brunei, underlining the need for expansion of joint ventures in different fields.

The two sides also discussed issues relating to consulate affairs, the fight against extremism and Islamophobia, the Palestinian cause, the continuation of talks for lifting anti-Iran sanctions as well as developments in Ukraine.
