Iran Greco-Roman wrestling runner-up in world championships

Iran's Greco-Roman wrestling team has finished runner-up in the 2023 World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

The Iranian team snatched one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals to trail Azerbaijan in the ranking, according to a Monday report by the IRNA. 

Amin Mirzazadeh received a gold medal in 130 kg and Alireza Mohmmadi in 82 kg snatched a silver medal.

Pooya Dadmarz (55 kg), Mohammad Reza Geraie (67 kg), and Mohammad Hadi Saravi (97 kg) bagged bronze medals for the Iranian team. 

Turkiye ranked third in the competition.

Earlier this week, Iran’s freestyle team had also finished runner-up at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade by winning one gold, two silvers, and one bronze medals
