Top security chief focuses on strengthening Iran-Iraq in visit to Baghdad

The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament and the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, as well a regional and international developments in a meeting in Baghdad on Monday, attended by the Iraqi National Security Advisor.

Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, on Monday hosted Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the accompanying delegation.

The meeting was held in the presence of Qassem Al-Araji, the National Security Advisor of Iraq, and the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries was emphasized.

In this meeting, Larijani conveyed the greetings of President Masoud Pezeshkian to Al-Mashhadani.

Al-Mashhadani emphasized the depth of social, cultural, religious, and political relations between the two nations.

The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament also condemned the recent attack by the Zionist regime on Iran and appreciated and thanked Iran for its supportive stance towards Iraq and its people.
