Dialogue, cooperation to pave way for regional progress: Raisi

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has insisted that progress in the Persian Gulf region can be achieved through dialogue and collaboration between regional countries.

Raisi made the remarks in a phone conversation with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani late on Thursday in which he congratulated the imminent Eid al-Fitr occasion that marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

The Iranian president also said in the phone call that expansion and consolidation of ties with the neighboring states are among the priorities of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Furthermore, he pointed to the recent crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinians at al-Aqsa Mosque while urging coordination and unity among Muslim nations to prevent such heinous acts.

The Qatari emir, for his part, congratulated the Iranian government and people on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and expressed readiness to expand ties with Iran in all sectors.

Sheikh Tamim also voiced his strong condemnation of crimes committed by the Zionists against the Palestinians in recent weeks, saying that Qatar always been supportive of the oppressed people of Palestine.
