Iran FM submits invitation to UAE president to visit Tehran

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has submitted an invitation to the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to visit Tehran.

The invitation was presented by Amirabdollahian to bin Zayed on behalf of the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Thursday. 

Amirabdollahian arrived in Abu Dhabi earlier in the day on the fourth and last leg of his regional tour.

In his meeting with the UAE president, the top Iranian diplomat discussed issues of bilateral relations including consular, cultural, economic and political affairs.

The two also discussed initiatives to strengthen regional cooperation to serve common interests.

Prior to his travel to the UAE, Amirabdollahian visited Qatar, Oman and Kuwait.

The Iranian foreign minister started his regional tour from Doha on June 20.
